Indirect Emissions from the Generation of Purchased Electricity (Scope 2 Emissions)

Summary

This framework allows you to view Indirect Emissions arising from the Generation of Purchased Electricity (Scope 2 Emissions). The emissions are allocated to economic sectors consistent with the 2006 Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC)

Scope 2 emissions can be examined in conjunction with Scope 1 emissions to gain a broader understanding of the emissions resulting across the economy from activity within each economic sector. Caution should be taken when analysing combined emissions due to the different conceptual bases of the emission estimates.

Process

1. Select the Inventory Year from the drop-down menu (default is set at the most recent year).
2. Select the Sector from the drop-down menu (default is set at "Total all Economic (ANZSIC) Sectors "). Next to the Sector dropdown, you may also specify the level(s) at which your emissions results are returned by selecting one of three checkboxes 'Selected level only', 'Selected and one level below', 'Selected and two levels below'. "Last level" indicates that the data cannot be disaggregated further.
3. You may drill down to the desired sub-sectoral level using the button. Select "Back to top" and click on to go back to "Total all Economic (ANZSIC) Sectors". Select your Browser's [Back] button to select a more aggregated category.
4. Click to initiate your query.
5. The page will return the data for the selections you have specified.
6. To view a time-series graph of the data, please click in the Trend Graph column. This will open a new screen with the graph displayed.

Comments

1. If you are using Internet Explorer you can copy displayed results to clipboard by clicking on "Copy to Clipboard" hyperlink.
2. You can also copy displayed table to a CSV file by clicking on " Copy To CSV File" hyperlink. Please note that we use semicolon ";" character as the field separator.
